Success rarely occurs on the first try. Let’s take the example of Thomas Edison, who invented the light bulb. He failed 1,000 tries before he developed a successful prototype.
When a reporter asked him “How did it feel to fail 10,000 times?” He replied, “I didn’t fail 10,000 times,” “I found 10,000 ways it was not going to work”.
So as you can see, he never saw those failures as defeat. He understood those were stepping stones to accomplish his goal the the more he keep going, the closer he was from making it work.
You can fail 1,000 times, but the key here is to never let those failures defeat you. Make those failures go small and quick and keep moving on to your final goal.
I went to a conference recently and the speaker said that 8 out of 10 new businesses fail. So he asked why would you even try, the answer is simple. TO BECOME ONE OF THOSE 2 that succeed.
Failure and defeat are life’s greatest teachers but sadly, most kids don’t want to even try.
